Art Loft Supports Global Wristband Project and Awareness of World AIDS Day

Christina Sabatini’03
Christina is back in Michigan and working on her year-long service project: raising $20,000 for HIV/AIDS prevention projects in South Africa. In her willingness to reach out to the Sacred Heart community, she has collaborated with the high school PEACE Group, which has also made a commitment this year to focus efforts in Africa; they are working together to raise awareness in and around the community. Inspired by a non-profit called Off The Mat, Into the World, Christina has created the Global Wristband Project and sells handwoven and recycled material bracelets that help raise funds for health and educational programs currently at work in South Africa. Each bracelet worn will help raises awareness to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa. The bracelets are colorful and carry a meaningful message across the logo. On Saturday, November 27, Christina will be will supported by a local business in the area, ART LOFT of Birmingham. ART LOFT showcases unique and innovative art work from places like South Africa, Europe and the Far East. Christina will be talking about her Global Wristband Project, selling wristbands, and raising awareness to World AIDS Day, December 1. Visit ART LOFT on November 27 and find the perfect gifts for the holidays, perhaps a bracelet or three! Please contact Christina with any questions or fundraising ideas at Visit her website Wear a wristband, Raise Awareness!

Thank you Rachel and Art Loft Gallery Team!
